Long story short…

After 16 years building Woodfarm and turning 60, I’ve decided it’s time to sell and enjoy life more.

The brand grew year after year until COVID, and while global cost of living issues and wars have affected the economy, Woodfarm remains strong, outperforming many. I’ve done very well from it and now simply want to move on.

Longer version..

Having built the Woodfarm brand over a 16-year period and reaching the ripe old age of 60, I have decided to sell as a going concern and live the rest of my life as fully as I can. 

I built the brand from nothing, and up until COVID, it was just going up year after year after year. Since then so many industries, ours included, have been impacted by global cost of living issues as well as the knock-on effects of war. Way to go Carl, start with the uplifting stuff! 

However, we know these things are cyclical, and we are performing better than many, in an industry that has seen a lot fall by the wayside. Although the figures have dipped from pre-COVID days due to the cost of living issues, I’m simply looking to exit as I have earned extremely well out of the business over the years and just want to move on to my next chapter.

We have a strong trading position, and whilst I currently handle pricing, this can be automated with dynamic pricing if you wanted to, and the CRM system we use has this option. 

I have decided to offer the Barns, Cottages, and all of the intellectual property surrounding the Woodfarm brand at less than asset value in order to try and speed up my semi-retirement. I’m doing this purely out of my personal motivation to have the freedom to travel more, and focus on the consultancy side of what I do. I simply don’t have a desire to hold out for a much higher price if it’s going to take me another few years.

Well positioned for the point at which the economy starts to climb back up again. You wouldn’t be looking at an investment if you didn’t think it was going to.
